This paper collects data on transport corridor projects financed by the Asian Development Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency, and World Bank links them to a wider economic benefit—local activity. The uses difference-in-differences methodology link variation in country local initial conditions, project characteristics Construction of new (greenfield) is associated with higher growth activity around than rehabilitation or expansion an existing corridor.
